Santa Ana Labor Commissioner Rules Completely in Favor of Employer on Claim for Reimbursable Business Expenses
Court: Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, Santa Ana
A former employee of an international electronic components company filed a claim with the Labor Commissioner alleging the employer failed to reimburse him for business expenses incurred through the majority of his employment, even though he failed to timely submit his reimbursement requests while he was employed and did not attach any verifying documentation. With the guidance of San Francisco partner Alison Tsao and the assistance of San Francisco associate M. Leah Cameron, Orange County associate Shirin Forootan's advocacy at the conference and hearing resulted in a complete victory for the company with the Hearing Officer ruling that "Plaintiff take nothing from the Defendant by virtue of his complaint."
