About Sander

Sander van der Heide represents employers of all sizes in a broad range of employment law matters, including wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other labor and employment-related claims. In particular, he focuses on complex, high-stakes wage and hour and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation.

As an experienced trial counsel, he has successfully represented clients through trial and appeals. His trial experience informs his practical, pragmatic, and strategic counsel to clients. He has represented employers before the state and federal courts in California, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Department of Labor, the United States Equal Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

In addition to litigation, van der Heide also provides preventative advice and counsel on best employment practices. He counsels clients on employment policies, procedures, and practices to mitigate litigation risk and ensure compliance with ever-changing California employment laws.
