
CDF Secures Complete Summary Judgment Win in Arbitration for Preeminent Acute Care Facility

In April 2025, CDF secured another summary judgment win in arbitration on behalf of a preeminent acute care facility. Former employee, a respiratory therapist, relocated out of state during the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Upon learning of the employee’s relocation, the employer met with the employee to address safety and operational concerns. Soon thereafter, the employee resigned and then filed a civil action (later compelled to arbitration) alleging claims of discrimination based on age, constructive wrongful termination, and retaliation. After several years of litigation, the arbitrator granted summary judgment on all claims. The defense team was led by Los Angeles Partners, Dawn M. Irizarry and Linda Wang.
